Love and respect. Those are pretty common words in our culture. But when put into the context of marriage, they can have a pretty uncommon impact. And it is that impact we hope to highlight this fall here at SpringCreek Fellowship.
Starting on Wednesday, October 4th, SCF will be offering a small group study designed just for couples using the book and DVD materials written by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, called “Love and Respect.” The curriculum is based on Ephesians 5:33: “However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” Meeting these two needs consistently in a marriage sets the stage for the improvement of any relationship! It has happened to others who have been through this study; it can happen to you.
The small group study, which will be led by Pastor Rick & Nancy Grace, will meet for the first time on October 4th at 6:30 pm with a light supper and fellowship time. The Graces will provide the main dish – Nancy’s world famous baked spaghetti! Couples attending are asked to bring something to help fill out the meal. During the first evening, we will cover the materials each couple will need to secure, and look at the itinerary for the rest of the fall, as we grow in both our “love and respect” for each other.
Several couples have already indicated their intention of being part of this small group study. If you are interested in joining in, please let Pastor Rick know. You can call or text him (479-445-3949) or message him on Facebook or call the church office. You can also indicate at that time what you will be bringing for the meal on the 4th.
Thanks for prayerfully considering being part of this “Love and Respect” small group study. It can be a way of showing those in your spheres of influence that you value your marriage and that a marriage centered on Christ can be qualitatively different. Hope to see you Wednesday night!
