Connecting With The Community for Tornado Victims in Cincinnati, Arkansas:
CINCINNATI, Ark. "(AP)" Ñ The National Weather Service says
a tornado that killed three people in the tiny northwest Arkansas
town of Cincinnati had winds up to 140 mph at its peak.
The weather service says
the tornado began just northeast of Westville, Okla., about 6:05 a.m. Friday
and tracked across the Arkansas state line, where it killed two people in a mobile home and another
in a barn in Cincinnati. The tornado stayed on the ground for 21 miles, ending three miles northwest of Tontitown about 6:27 a.m.
The twister's maximum width was about 500 yards. It was about 300 yards wide when it hit Cincinnati.
The Front Porch Family Diner co-owner Ralph Hudson says his location will serve as a drop-off point for donations to
help the families devestated in that tornado. Donations of non-perishable food, clothing, personal needs as well as cash, will
be accepted Monday through Thursday January 3-6 between 6:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Connecting With The Community:
Our Community Groups are the environments where we
see God transform lives through authentic connections.
Community Groups usually meet weekly and are aimed
at providing an intimate pursuit of God, a connection to a smaller
gathering of believers, and a mission to touch the lives of those around
you with the message of Christ.
Interest Based Community (IBC) Groups are frequent
gatherings aimed at uniting people around interests and hobbies. The
purpose of these Groups is to have fun and build a sense of community.
The IBC Groups help people experience Group life as they consider a more
structured Community Group.
We believe life change occurs most effectively in
the context of community. It is our way of living out Acts 2:42, "...and
they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and
to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
Size of our Groups: Approximately 4 to 14
individuals.
