New Here: Our Beliefs

The first to follow Jesus were called “Christians” (Acts 11:26). We believe that there are nine basic characteristics for a Christ-followers to called a C.H.R.I.S.T.I.A.N.

C – Christ is the head of the Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ, and Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The Council of Elders are leaders who guide Christ-followers in the ways of Jesus. See

Ephesians 4:14; 1 Peter 5:2

H – Holy and relevant is the infallible Word of God
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error and relevant for all ages. See 2 Timothy 3:16-17

R - Royal Priesthood of believers
We believe every Christ-follower is a specially gifted minister who is part of the priesthood of believers. See 1 Peter 2:9

I – Immersion of repentant believers
We believe that immersion is part of the Great Commission Jesus gave all Christ-followers. Throughout the New Testament, all Christ-followers were immediately baptized (immersed) to show they had been incorporated into the body of Christ. See Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38-41; Romans 6

S – Salvation in Christ
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation “in Christ” is a process of being saved from the pleasures and penalty of sin (justification), the power of sin (sanctification), and the presence of sin (glorification). See Romans 6:23; Romans 8:28-30

T – Three Persons within one
We believe God reveals Himself to seekers as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Trinity is composed of three united Persons without separate existence—so completely united as to form one God. We, as Christ-followers, practice placing equal emphasis on each Person in the Godhead so that we can maintain a balanced understanding of God. See Romans 1:20

I – Investing your tithes and offerings in the Kingdom of God
We believe Christ-followers are generous and receive God’s best when they tithe—give ten percent of their income to God. The church receives tithes and offerings every week because God says our tithe belong to Him. We believe that a person’s tithes and offerings are between him or her and God. See Leviticus 26:30; Malachi 3:8-10; Hebrews 7:8-9.

A – Abide in Christ
We believe every Christ-Follower should live for Christ and not for himself or herself. By abiding in Christ through the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. See John 15:5; 2 Corinthians 3:18.

N – Necessity of bringing people to Christ
The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. We believe that a simple presentation of Jesus Christ in creative ways in our weekend celebration will help you connect others with the message of Christ. See 1 Peter 3:15
